Doyle, still wondering if it would be possible to win Lauren back, calls Samuel in the company parking lot. After they hang up, the player can either go to see Lauren, or go right to the carnival, which results it going to see Lauren anyway. After being let in, Doyle tries to persuade Lauren to stay with him in spite of his threatening abilities. However, he soon sees that his efforts are futile. He considers forcing Lauren to leave with him, but he decides that he isn't that kind of man anymore. The story jumps forward several months and Doyle is enjoying living at the carnival. After his act, he reaches a cup of water, in which he sees the reflection of an old acquaintance.
